New Pics have been added!!!                Check them out!!!

October 4th, 2008 is the Comal River Cleanup.  One of our largest events.  Cheap accomodations are usually sponsored and available if you book early.  We are becoming a fixture at this event and hope that ALL Krewe will attend.  As usual, the first eight members to register will recieve a discount on the registration fee.  let Coz know if you wanna be one of these eight as soon as possible.

The next organized Krewe event will be the Lake Travis Cleanup on September 8, 2008.  The Badger is already talking with the powers-that-be with regard to Krewe participation and donations.  For those of you that have not attended the event, this is a VERY good time!!!  We usually get a donated platform boat to dive from, not to mention our own unintoxicated boat driver!!!  Full foot fins??  The after-dive-party includes a buttload of door prizes, food, beer, at your and mine's favorite: Carlos & Charlies on the lake.  There will probable be a post after-dive party, at least in the parking lot!!  New Krewe goodies may be ready by this time depending on dues payments by u cheap mo fo's!!  We should make a concerted effort to capture the "Most Unique" award.... maybe a dildo in that little twisted cove!...heh.

The ShoeKrewe will donate to the Comal Cleanup again this year.  As well as a cash donation, we will give a T-shirt and some goodies to the event.  Also, for the Travis Cleanup, The Krewe will donate a considerable amount of Budlight for membership "refreshment" at the event.  Clearly, our efforts with these events is becoming recognized in the Texas dive market.  We should all be proud to help with the conservation of Texas waterways.

Check out the "TGCC" webpage at: www.tgccdiving.org

Members are asked to send in thier "dues" as soon as possible.  New T's and design will take some time... We would like to have them for the Travis Cleanup, if at all possible.

The ShoeKrewe Officers will soon be discussing the possibility of offering a couple of College Scholarships to Krewe members and families.

The funds for these scholarships will come from the late Thomas H. Boruff Estate.

Other "donations" may also be fourthcoming.

A "special session" of the board will convene sometime late summer to address these issues.

For those of you familiar with the Comal River, be advised that there is what appears to be a 1 to 1 ratio of River Cops to River Patrons.  Thins have become absurd on the water down there.  Be sure to check the River website for rules and regs regarding your float... jees.....................

The Krewe bylaws have been incepteded.  The bylaws, in short, follow the constitution incepted last October.

The Krewe is dicussing the possibility of rejuvinating Flower Gardens trip. Many of the Krewe made this trip for 8 years straight! Interest seems to be back, although I wonder why it was ever lost!!? The fling trip is truly a dive value. The price, now $425, is still, in my humble opinion, the best dive bang for the buck from Texas. Please let us know if you are interested.  The more the merrier!!

The Spring Board Meeting to adopt the Krewe By-Laws is set.

May 31, 7:00 PM in New Braunfels, Texas at " The Other Place Resort", Building 4, Lower Cabin.

E-agendas have been sent to all of the Board Members and most of the general membership.

We will be floatin', Divin', Snorklin', and generally havin' a damn good time.

Cabins are about $150.00/nite

Hope to see many of u there!

Oh yeah, there will be new "nicknames"considered and possibly assigned.

The Krewe turned out for the 2008 Guadelupe River Cleanup.

The water temp was around 55 degrees!!!!brrrrrrrrr!!!

We did have a really nice area, although it was so far up stream that there was little trash to be found.

We were diving in the cold bottom water of Canyon Lake being discharged.

Attending the event we had: Coz, Steph, Shark, Amy, Robert, Angela, Sid and Lacy.

We got some good press for the Krewe and generally had a blast.

The real fun was had foating the Comal and chute funs!!!

Also there was a little midnight swim..n..float.

Our good friends at "The Other Place" accomodated us well and forgave our indiscretions.

Pics to come soon!!!

For Officers and all Krewe Members:

There will be a Board of Directors/ Club Council meeting this Spring.  The dates and times will be posted here.  Ample notice will be given for anyone who would like to attend

Guadelupe River Cleanup is March 28.

We need the Krewe to rally for this event.  The Krewe will make no monitary donations for this one, but we could lend a hand.  Should be a great time... swimmin' wi' da wet suit.

The 1st "Houston Dive Show" was attended by the Krewe Officers on January 26 &27.

The show was a lot like DEMA or other familiar events.  Not quite as big, however.  The first year of anything s always a trouble.

But, all in all the show was great.  Especialy the selection of Seminars.

Our favorite by far was the Andrea Doria Seminar, hosted by the actual guy that found the BELL!!!

Dinner and fun continued Saturday nite at the "Aquarium" indowntown Houston.
