For Officers and all Krewe Members:
There will be a Board of Directors/ Club Council meeting this Spring. The dates and times will be posted here. Ample notice will be given for anyone who would like to attend
Guadelupe River Cleanup is March 28.
We need the Krewe to rally for this event. The Krewe will make no monitary donations for this one, but we could lend a hand. Should be a great time... swimmin' wi' da wet suit.
The 1st "Houston Dive Show" was attended by the Krewe Officers on January 26 &27.
The show was a lot like DEMA or other familiar events. Not quite as big, however. The first year of anything s always a trouble.
But, all in all the show was great. Especialy the selection of Seminars.
Our favorite by far was the Andrea Doria Seminar, hosted by the actual guy that found the BELL!!!
Dinner and fun continued Saturday nite at the "Aquarium" indowntown Houston.
Check out the new Pics!!
At the end there are a bunch of Dinoisaur Valley State Park.
Happy New Year to all! 2008 is in with a bang!
The Krewe is already discussing plans for the 2008 dive season, the first of which is a trip to Houston for the Houston Dive show (1st annual!!). Then the San Marcos and Guadalupe clean-ups, to be followed by the Annual Officers/Members trip to Cozumel!!
I am trying to keep all members up-to date concerning these events (by e-mail). Our By-Laws officers will have something to do this Spring as the By-Laws should be signed in at the Cozumel Meeting.
So far, it looks like there will be a t least 8 to 10 in attendance at Cozumel this year.
This is a great year for first timers on this annual Diving Blowout!
We already have eyes out searching for the best deals and dates (sometime around the first of June, tenatively.

6 KREWE RETURN FROM COZUMEL & SUCCESSFUL TRIP
Capt. Don, Coz, Clark,Andy, Mike & mickey had a fabulous tim at the "Allegro for 4 days. The diving was great, including a new dive... Tortugas. By the way, you could also call this Dive "Tarponas". At least 800 tarpon in schools!!! And yes, there are many pictures and clips to load onto the website. A majority official officer vote has given the Capt. a new "Allias"! Capt. Don "Badger" Perryman. There have been issues with this subject before.
No one was arrested, bent, broken, drowned, cut, or for that matter, insulted. Next year is 10th annual and will be at least 6 days. More to come!!!
ShoeKrewe is "Bronze" contributor to 2007 Trashfest.
The Krewe has made a generouse contribution to the efforts of the 2007 Trashfest being held October, 2007. Our Logo and a link to our website will be posted on the Trashfest website!! Also our name will be in the literature provided to all at the event. The logo is a prototype and will probably be changed.
TRASHFEST ON OCTOBER 6th
The Krewe will be attending the Comal River cleanup on October 6, 2007! We will pre-register as a group and recieve some "special" attention, as is our due!! Captain will be in touch with Bud Light to try and arrange our own Krewe refreshments. We need a large turnout here... so put it on your calendar!!
Last year there was an award for Shoes & Sunglasses... I expect a winner for this catagory, this year.
Meeting time and place will be posted after the Cozumel trip.
NEWS FLASH!!!
Mark Bell has been located!!!
On June 18, 2007, Coz recieved a call from the long-lost Mark Bell. He is doing well after suffering some medical problems and has re-entered the active Krewe Ranks. His duties have been lightened accordingly for the time being but a full recovery is imminant!!! The Krewe will elect a Master-at-Arms (Interim) at the Cozumel administrative meeting on June 29'th and are taking nomonations.
NEW KREWE VICE-PRESIDENT
Rescently appointed Vice -President to the heralded Krewe was Andy Leisensen. His steadfastness in all aspects of "Krewe Responsibilities" has far exceeded the existing Krewe Administration. Therefore Mr. Leisensen has been promoted to the ranks of the very people that make these weighty decisions.
CONGRATULATIONS... ANDY "Holiday"!!!
When commenting on Andy's rescent promotion, Captain Don stated that events had been unfolding for some time now.
Executive Vice- President , Coz, was informed of the decision.. later.. but subsequently agreed and called another round.
COZUMEL, JUNE 29, 2007....
A minimum of 6 Krewe Members will be traveling to Cozumel on June 29, 2007 for the , late this year, but nonetheless annual cozumel Dive and Fish Extravaganza. Once again "TA" Patterson got us all outrageously cheap deals.
Absolute "go's" fer the trip: Coz and Capt; "TA" Patterson and VP Andy; and of course Mike & Mike.
Mexico is gettin' kinda nasty right now, bes to stay low-key.
Update--6/20/07. I have checked with the Consulates office and there are no Danger/Terrorist advisories for the Carribean Region.
You may now register your trip with the Consulates office for safety/emergencies.
NEW SPONSOR
The Krewe, spearheaded by Capt. Don's efforts have obtained a lofty sponsor: BUD LIGHT !!!... I must say that this is all we could dream for when we were , like, 20 -something. It is a comfort in old age, though, to know that some of the goals in life have indeed been mastered.
We now have a link on our website that takes you direcly to the BUD LIGHT website, which, if I may say so.."KICKS ASS!!!"
DUI DRYSUIT DEMO- LAKE TRAVIS
SEE US AT:
http://
Capt. Don, Coz and Andy made their second round of "Drysuit Demo" diving on April 21, 2007! All wore the new "30-30" tropical design this time. A top notch selection if I do say so.
Visibility was 20' in some places, 5 feet in others.
Party got to 3rd thermocline at about 65'.
Part of the Krewe is Keeping up with this..."Adrea Doria"!
Lunch was a tasty soy-burger and a frozen dog....mmmm
Went to the Oasis later...
Conspicuously missing....Cl..k.
Pics were made...
DINOSAUR VALLEY STATE PARK-BLUE HOLE
The Blue Hole at Dinosaur Valley Park is a truely top notch swimming hole!! Pictures to come soon!!
Approximately 20 feety deep at the center with a solid limestone and/or beack-like sand.
Good vis would be around 15 to 20 feet.
Rough access.
